About Growing Up Green Charter School
Our exciting and growing K-6 progressive charter school is leading the way for teaching “green” education. With a staff of over 70 loving dedicated teachers and operations specialists, and an enrollment of 500+ eager-learning children, we have created a remarkable and fun culture in which both staff and student retention is extraordinarily high. As we continue to grow, we are expanding to yet another additional campus.
By empowering children to be conscious, contributing members of our community through a rigorous curriculum and an engaging green culture, our school is preparing its graduates to attend high-performing schools where their interdisciplinary academic foundation, knowledge of sustainability, and strong sense of self sets them apart as leaders of the future.
From academic blocks for math and literacy to creating “Explore and Discover” projects driven by NYS Social Studies standards to science labs co-taught by the classroom and science teacher, students are taught a combination of direct skills instruction and exploration based projects to help them achieve their highest scholastic potential. Additionally, our Growing Up Green Charter School uses the Responsive Classroom approach to build social skills.
About the Role: Office Manager
Our growing team is seeking a detail-oriented Office Manager to organize and supervise all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of an office. This person will have strong project management experience and can juggle many moving pieces while wear many different hats.
The Office Manager will have a high level of integrity, exceptional character, confidence, and the ability to deal with stress in positive ways. We are looking for a problem solver with excellent time management and prioritization skills, who is a passionate self-motivator, genuinely enjoys children and will be soulfully engaged in the work. Familiarity with the education system and culture, as well as fluency in the Spanish language is significant for the ideal candidate to be successful in this role. This position is vital to the smooth running of the overall school and also has huge growth opportunities, both within the school or within the academic world more broadly.
This is a full time position located in Queens, New York.
